Families in Bonnyville can enjoy free movies and summer camps at the Bonnyville and District Centennial Centre. The centre has added new free movie showings and ongoing themed camps to its summer lineup, giving parents and kids plenty to do through late July.
The Alstar Movie Theatre inside the centre will show “Transformers One” on July 20 and “Next Goal Wins” on July 21. Both movies run from 1 to 3 p.m. and are free to attend.
“Transformers One” is an animated story about the relationship between Optimus Prime and Megatron, while “Next Goal Wins” is a sports comedy about a soccer team trying to qualify for the World Cup.
The centre’s See2Kids summer camps continue with a Disney-themed camp for kids aged 5 to 10 wrapping up July 17, and a sports camp for ages 10 to 14 running July 20 to 24. The Disney camp began July 13. Registration stays open until 9 a.m. on the day of each camp as space allows.
Parents can also book fitness classes and make payments online through the new FinnlyConnect system. The centre is open Monday through Saturday from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Sundays from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. through September 6. The Welcome Desk is available at 780-812-3400.
