Temperatures will climb above seasonal norms early in the week, reaching 24°C on Tuesday and 25°C on Wednesday with mostly sunny skies. Overnight lows will sit in the comfortable 5°C to 13°C range, giving farmers and ranchers a good window for harvest work.
By Thursday, conditions shift. Environment Canada is calling for a 30 percent chance of showers during the day, increasing to 60 percent Friday night. Weekend forecasts show shower chances of 30 percent Saturday and 40 percent Sunday, with highs settling back to the seasonal September average of 19°C.
This weather pattern matters to local agriculture. The Municipal District of Willow Creek, which surrounds Claresholm, has about 437,293 acres of crops and more than 500 farms with cattle. Wet weather has already pushed harvest operations well behind schedule, so the early-week dry spell could be important for producers trying to catch up.
