Students in Arviat and across Nunavut can now begin planning for the upcoming school year, as Nunavut Arctic College has released its official academic calendar and program offerings for the fall of 2026.
The college, which has served residents for over 30 years, provides education through a network of five campuses and 25 community learning centres. For students in Arviat, local academic services are coordinated through the Kivalliq Campus in Rankin Inlet, which also hosts the Sanatuliqsarvik Nunavut Trades Training Centre.
According to the new documents, enrollment for the fall semester opens on August 3, 2026. New students will participate in orientation sessions on August 27 and 28, with classes officially beginning on August 31, 2026. The course list for this fall includes a wide range of subjects, such as health and wellness, trades and technology, business, education, and Inuit culture and language. Beyond classroom instruction, the college maintains a local presence through the Nunavut Research Institute, which operates a research facility in Arviat.
The institution is led by President Jackie Price and overseen by a board of governors that includes regional representatives from across the territory.
