The Town of Blackfalds has officially proclaimed May 2-8, 2026, as Youth Week, marking a week-long celebration dedicated to the community’s young people. The festivities will begin on Saturday, May 2, at 9:00 AM.
Organized by the Blackfalds Family and Community Support Services, the event aims to recognize the contributions young people make to society. Sierra Fitch, the youth programmer for the department, noted that the week is designed to provide engaging opportunities and ensure local youth have productive ways to connect with one another.
This celebration continues a long-standing tradition in the community, as the Town Council has formally recognized Youth Week annually since at least 2019. The current council, led by Mayor Laura Svab following the October 2025 municipal election, remains committed to supporting these community programs.
