The Blackfalds Co-Ed Slo-Pitch League is set to begin its 2026 season on Tuesday, May 5, with games planned for the coming months. The recreational league, which welcomes players of all skill levels, will host games every Tuesday and Thursday evening from 6:00 to 9:30 PM, weather permitting.
All games will take place at the Sterling Industries Sports Park, located at 4800 Leung Rd. The park features four fenced ball diamonds, along with amenities such as a playground, concession area, and washrooms for attendees. The league season is scheduled to run until August 7, with a year-end tournament set for August 14-16.
Ten teams are registered to participate in the league this year, which is administered by the Town of Blackfalds Community Services Department. The registration fee of $1,050 per team covers the cost of game balls, scorebooks, and insurance provided by Slo-Pitch National. While team registration for the current season is now closed, the league remains a key part of local community recreation. A pre-season meeting for teams was held on April 21 at the Abbey Centre.
The use of Sterling Industries Sports Park for local activities continues a busy year for the facility. The venue is also slated to host events coordinated by Softball Canada.
