Bonnyville is gearing up for Canada Day and local groups can now sign up to take part in the annual parade. The Town of Bonnyville opened registration on June 9, 2026, inviting businesses, sports teams, and families to join the procession down Main Street on July 1.
“Registration is now open for the 2026 Canada Day Parade! Gather your group, decorate your float, and be part of one of Bonnyville’s favourite Canada Day traditions,” the Town announced on its website. Participants can enter floats, vehicles, or walking groups, with spots expected to fill up as the holiday approaches.
The parade will start at 3 p.m. and is the centrepiece of a full day of festivities. Events begin with a pancake breakfast in the Sobeys parking lot from 8 to 11 a.m., followed by opening ceremonies at the Bonnyville and District Museum at 11 a.m. After the parade, a Party in the Park runs at 5 p.m. at Little Leap Park, ending with fireworks at dusk.
Canada Day event organizer Doreen Kushnir said she is most excited about the evening fireworks display. The event is a major draw for the Lakeland region, bringing residents together to celebrate with local organizations and businesses.
To sign up, groups can visit the Town’s website. Registration details and parade guidelines are available online.
