Bonnyville residents can look forward to a couple of warm, sunny days to kick off the week before rain moves in, according to Environment Canada.
Monday will be sunny with a high of 24°C and west winds gusting up to 40 km/h. The UV index is forecast to reach 6, which is considered high, so sun protection is recommended for anyone spending time outdoors.
Tuesday will be another warm day, with sunshine giving way to a mix of sun and cloud in the afternoon. The temperature is forecast to climb to 27°C, above the seasonal normal of 23°C, and winds will shift to the southeast, gusting to 40 km/h. The UV index will be 7, also high. The hottest day of the week, however, is expected Friday at 31°C.
Conditions change Wednesday as cloud cover rolls in, though the high will remain mild at 25°C. Overnight, there is a 60 percent chance of showers with a low of 14°C. That wet trend could linger into Thursday night, which brings a 30 percent chance of showers, though Thursday itself is forecast to be sunny with a high of 26°C.
No weather alerts are currently in effect for the Bonnyville area. As of early afternoon Monday, the Dupre weather station recorded a temperature of 21.6°C with 48 percent humidity and a humidex of 23.
The extended forecast points to more sunshine and heat late in the week, with Friday expected to soar to 31°C. Normal highs for this time of year are around 23°C, with lows near 11°C.
