Bonnyville, Alberta can look forward to a stretch of warm and mostly sunny weather this week, once Tuesday evening’s showers and thunderstorms pass through the area.
According to Environment Canada, Tuesday started with a fog advisory for the M.D. of Bonnyville, including Ardmore and Kehewin Res., but conditions were expected to improve through the morning. The rest of the day was forecast to be sunny with a high of 24C and a humidex of 27, before clouds roll in and bring showers and thunderstorms Tuesday night.
The storms are expected to end overnight, with clearing skies before Wednesday morning. From there, the forecast calls for mostly sunny conditions through Saturday, with daytime highs climbing from 24C on Wednesday to 30C by Saturday. Overnight lows will range from 10C to 15C.
Residents planning to spend time outside should be aware of the UV index, which is forecast to hit 7, or high, on Tuesday. Environment Canada recommends wearing a hat, protective clothing, and sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher, and seeking shade during midday when the sun is strongest.
The pleasant weather won’t last forever. Clouds and a 70 percent chance of showers are expected to return Saturday night and continue into Sunday, with a high of just 18C.
