Claresholm Fair Days is set for August 6 to 9, 2026, bringing four days of family activities to the southern Alberta town. This year’s celebration is getting a boost from a $6,000 Diamond Anniversary Grant from the Community Foundation of Lethbridge and Southwestern Alberta.
The grant is part of the foundation’s 60th anniversary. It awarded 11 of these one-time grants across the region for events that are free and open to everyone. Claresholm Fair Days was one of the recipients, with the money helping to keep the festivities accessible for all.
Residents can expect a full lineup, including the Candy Parade, a wild west rodeo, live music, a chili cook-off, a classic car Show N Shine, markets, a movie night, the Bench Show, and a slo-pitch tournament. The Bench Show is the longest-running event of Fair Days, where locals display artwork, jams, kids’ crafts, sewing, baking, and other handmade items.
Anyone wanting to join the parade can register decorated bikes, tractors, classic cars, or community group entries. Registration is available through a link on the Town of Claresholm website.
The Community Foundation was created in 1966 by an Act of the Legislative Assembly of Alberta. Executive Director Charleen Davidson said the foundation has grown a lot in the last 10 years, and it was able to fund most of the grant applications it received.
